There are no contracts to fill out, no minimum use requirements, no bills and since the service is prepaid, if the cell phone gets lost or stolen, you don't have to worry about someone running up a huge bill.

We offer two types of cellular rentals – the National Geographic Travel Phone Rental and “country specific” solutions. The National Geographic Travel Phone Rental works in over 200 countries and offers unlimited free incoming calls in over 80 countries. It is designed for travelers who are visiting multiple countries during their trip. Cellular Abroad is the only company in the world authorized to rent this product – which should tell you a lot about us! Country specific solutions are usually recommended for those traveling only to one country. You will have a local number for that country and pay rates that in some cases literally amount to several pennies per minute.

If you're traveling to a country that is not on this list or if you are traveling to multiple countries, (for example, traveling to Italy, Germany and France on one trip), you will want to take a look at our National Geographic Travel Phone option. Also, if you plan on using the phone very little (such as an emergency phone) or you don't think your investment in a country-specific SIM will pay for itself, you may again want to consider a National Geographic Travel Phone rental. There is no SIM card to buy with Talk Abroad, although you will need to purchase a minimum of 1 recharge ($29) to give you some initial air time.

If travelling to an exotic locale not covered by our Talk Abroad plan, you can still get service with a prepaid satellite phone.
