The SIM card or chip is the brain of the phone

The SIM card or chip is the brain of the phone and is what allows you to make calls within Bangladesh and internationally. The card is prepaid so that you will never receive a phone bill and will always be in complete control of your expenditures. If needed, you can simply add more talk time to the card by purchasing scratch off recharge cards and entering in the PIN number on the handset. And since incoming calls are always free, even if you have depleted your credit you can still receive incoming calls from anywhere in the world.
The SIM card slips easily into the phone and if needed, you can purchase other SIM cards as well for other countries to where you may be traveling. We also offer international SIM cards that are convenient for travel to multiple countries.
We offer a wide assortment of GSM cell phones for purchase and you can use any of our GSM phones in conjunction with the SIM cards we offer. However, for added convenience and savings we recommend our package deal of a cell phone and Bangladesh SIM card. This package is popular with our customers and the phone will also work in over 200 other countries (including the US with one of the many carriers using the GSM system). Once you have the appropriate phone, it's easy and inexpensive to purchase and use a SIM card for the next country to which you will travel.

Your Bangladesh Cell phone Number:Your cellular phone number for Bangladesh is displayed on the back of the SIM card package above the bar codes. The 10-digit phone number begins with "0".
Preparing Your Phone for use overseas:While you won't be able to use your SIM card until you get to Bangladesh, there are a few things you can do to test your equipment and prep your phone.
Test that your phone charger works well with your phone and make sure your phone's battery can take and hold a charge. (All Cellular Abroad phones come with variable-voltage chargers.)
If you are supplying your own phone, make sure you have the phone menus specifically set to use English (as opposed to the "automatic" setting.) Consult your phone manual if you don't know where the language setting is.
Snap out the SIM chip from the SIM card and insert the chip into your GSM Phone with the metal portion facing down as to make contact with the contact prongs. (You'll usually find your phone's SIM card slot underneath the battery of your GSM cell phone. Consult your phone manual if unsure of the proper installation procedure.)
Turn on your phone
Enter the PIN1 number indicated on the envelope to have access to the phone menus. Note: It is a VERY good idea to diable the PIN-check feature on your SIM card. If unsure, consult your phone's user guide under "security", "PIN", or "SIM".
Familiarize yourself with the phone menus. You can add phone numbers to your address book. Be sure to enter complete international phone numbers when dialing to another country.

Adding Talk Time:Additional call credit can be added by purchasing Grameenphone recharge cards. They are sold in denominations of 15 (~$9.30), 25 (~$15.50) and 40 (~$24.90) BGN at tobacco shops, magazine kiosks and any convenience store displaying the Grameenphone logo. Even if you have zero credit - since incoming calls are always free - you will still be able to receive calls.
Once you have purchased a recharge card, simply follow these easy instructions:
Simply scratch off the grey protective layer to reveal your voucher code
Dial 1330 from your own mobile phone
Follow the instructions you hear to enter the code number
Upon successful entry of the code, your account will be credited
